The 16th Congress 2nd session has to be one of the most exciting Congress debates in the History of America. Most students know it best as the Congress that debated on the Missouri causes. While this Congress was largely about Missouri it covered many other subjects as to arriving at the decision they made. The Debates is loaded with unchallenged Statements concerning The States and their rights, The sovereignty of the States were repeated many times and this Congress is the only Congress that define and expounded on Citizenship prior to the war. It is an historical mystery just how the Sovereign issues that prevailed through the time of the formation of the more perfect union in 1789 through the 1820's. It seem to be a common knowledge among all Statesmen who was Sovereign between the Federal government and the States, But just as the 1830's rolled around a school of new philosophers came through the halls of Congress (Daniel Webster), in the Courts (Joseph Story) and in the writers of History (P. Curtis) all from Boston and roved through the knowledge of truth as they brought in their new doctrines of Nationalism. What makes this CD so important is that it will help the student grasped just what was the known and common doctrines prior to the Webster mesmerizers that convinced the seated Statesmen of that time to vote and think a new national way. This was what begin the biggest arguments that soon lead to a war that the wrong side won, but the truth shall stand in eternity untouched. If you really want to know about States Rights and about Citizenship then here it is. Much can be learned just from reading and studying this Congress.
