1924 Law Dictionary By William Baldwin

$15.00

This is another rare and hard to come by Law dictionary. When I want to know a definition on a word or phrase concerning the law I go through every Law dictionary I have. I fine it very valuable because different Law Lexicographers/ Professors have a different way of defining the word or phrase and has something different to be said. By the time I get through all of them it is like I have been through a mini school on the subject. While this dictionary is not as extensive as the other dictionaries out there you will be surprised as to how well this concise edition gets the point trough as well as even have words or phrases that the "bigger" dictionaries has either dropped out or has never listed it. Even in this small dictionary I have noticed a better definition, for instance Due Process is better said and hit right on the nail in just a couple of sentences and gets right to the real point of due process than some of these bigger Law dictionaries that take up to a half page to define Due Process and still miss the very imported meaning that is said here.. Also On the "Poll tax" it refers to "some" of the United States which implies a confederacy and not a nation. Not only is this a good dictionary but it is called the "Dollar Dictionary" because it deals with the Dollar mostly. In the back of the dictionary it has all the statues dealing with: Uniform Negotiable Instruments Uniform Sales Law Uniform Transfer of Stock Law Uniform Warehouse Receipts Law Uniform bills of Landing Law And then gives the cannons of Professional Ethics. It gives the codes of the Bar on this subject which one will see just why the Lawyers have to bow so low to the judges. This dictionary also has the Latin and French Legal Maxims.
