Blacks Law Dictionary 1st Edition (1891)

$25.00

I have here the First edition of Black's Law Dictionary by Henry Campbell Black M. A. on CD-Rom. If you want to compare how definitions change, then check with this first edition and compare it with the latest. One word in particular is the word "Public" In 1891 the definition is clear and to the point, but in the latter editions there is an undetermined meaning left that leaves one to wonder what the government then means when it uses the word. You may find several words that has been broadened and/or narrowed down. My personal beliefs about Blacks Law Dictionary is that it is merely an offspring of the supreme Court's opinions. In other words, if the supreme Court states a definition and makes a ruling, then the next edition of Blacks will reflect that. So if the Court makes a ruling claiming the "Public" so and so, or the "Public" this and the Public that, then have fun deciding who they are talking about when making that decision and of coarse the term "Public Policy" Are you the Public? Maybe and maybe not. Never the less watching word changes has become a personal hobby of mine and I really like to find key words on subjects and know when they changed and for what reason. Every one should have copies of past dictionaries but that cannot happen because of the obscurity of them. This is one way to have them in your possession and then you can compare the differences if any. ORDER BLACK'S LAW DICTIONARY FIRST AND SECOND EDITION AS A PACKAGE AND RECEIVE BOTH VERSIONS FOR $38! THAT'S A $12 SAVINGS! CLICK HERE TO GO TO THE BLACK'S PACKAGE DEAL.
