Rare Journal On The 14th Amendment by Benjamin Kendrick

$15.00

This is one of the most detailed studies into a Journal that was printed by law but was never distributed. Professor Kendricks tells of his discovery of such a journal on the 14th Amendment that was held in the 39th Congress from 1865 through 1867. This copy was first heard of when Roscoe Conkling ( A member of the 39th Congress) used it in a Railroad case in 1889 (22 years after the facts) called Minneapolis and St. Louis Railroad Company v. Beckwith. This is a copy of that Journal which Professor Kendrick had such a hard time getting a copy of and finding out that there was only one copy available. Through many miles of running to and fro just to find that it had been sold to another person and then another. He finally makes available through his book what was in this journal. I do not know how many copies were made of this book in 1914, but I do know that trying to find an original copy of this book has taken me 3 years of constant web search. And I do mean a daily search. From the reference given in other works from his on time is how I found out about the book. Other writers such as Roaul Berger, Hermine Meyer, Joseph James had mentioned him and quoted him is how I found out about this journal. I am not sure if all of them has quoted him but these are 14th Amendment writers that I have read and between these three and maybe Collins I learned of this Journal. From the references I have read this book goes to prove that the 14th Amendment was a conspiracy from the beginning and Professor Kendrick walks the reader through the journal. One thing I do know, It was not easy to get, and the reprints are selling as much as $150.00 down to $70.00 depending on who is selling it when it is available. Now I have problems with reprints and I refuse to have one unless that is the absolute and only way I will have a copy, because I would always suspect key parts left out like Carroll Quigley’s Book "Tragedy and Hope" where the second printing purposely left out the main Chapter.
